Extra train during renovation and modernisation
On the rail connection between Amersfoort and Wageningen, the Valleilijn, a large-scale renovation and modernisation project of the rolling stock is currently taking place. This was the reason for the temporary deployment of the iconic Materieel ’64 train. By deploying this additional train, the timetable can remain the same and passengers will experience as little disruption as possible while the current trains are taken out of service one by one.
To match the Mat ’64 train with the rest of the Valleilijn fleet, a new ‘look’ was needed. FromAtoB public design carried out a study for the sticker plan covering both interior and exterior and provided the production-ready wrap for the train and all the required pictograms. Some of the original pictograms used in the Mat ’64 no longer met current standards and were replaced or supplemented. Wherever possible, original stickers were preserved to maintain the nostalgic feel.
In collaboration with advertising agency True Ideas, RRReis posters and sticker elements have been added to the interior with information and illustrations to explain to passengers the improvements being applied to the Protos and Flirt trains during the renovation.
